Two faculty members from the Dugoni School were recognized by the Pierre Fauchard Academy during a recent awards ceremony held on September 10 at the InterContinental Hotel in San Francisco. The event was hosted by the Academy's Northern California Section.
The Pierre Fauchard Academy is an international honorary dental organization that recognizes outstanding dentists and celebrates their achievements. It seeks to grow leaders in the dental profession through service to community and society.
Dr. Paul Glassman was honored with the Dental Faculty Recognition Award. Glassman serves as professor of dental practice, director of community oral health and director of the Pacific Center for Special Care. This award recognizes a faculty member who has made a significant contribution to dentistry through education or research.
Dr. Desmond Gallagher, Group Practice Leader, received the Dental Faculty Development Grant. This monetary grant of $750 is given to support a faculty member's work in education methodology.
The Pierre Fauchard Academy is currently composed of more than 8,000 fellows divided into 120 sections in 65 countries.
