Group Practice Manager Hilary Djeng was honored with the 2017 Cavanaugh Distinguished Service Award during a ceremony held on Dec. 13 at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. The annual award honors a staff member for service, excellence and commitment to the school.
The award is funded by former University of the Pacific Vice President for Finance Patrick Cavanaugh and his wife Janita. It recognizes staff members from the Stockton, Sacramento and San Francisco campuses for exceptional accomplishments, leadership, innovation and service to the university community. Dental school faculty and staff nominate colleagues who have contributed to the school's vision, mission and values.
Hilary started working in the clinic in 2011 as a Group Practice Coordinator and was promoted to Group Practice Manager in 2016. Her caring and thoughtfulness with students and patients as well as her attention to detail and innovation were just some qualities noted by colleagues who nominated her.
One of her coworkers commented on the nomination form "Hilary leaves no stone unturned in her quest for excellence in all areas. She has been singularly responsible for so many significant clinic operational and staff changes and enhancements that ensure our students a superior clinical education while delivering exceptional patient care."
"Hilary has shown that she cares a great deal about the student experience at Pacific, as well as the patient experience," remarked Dean Nader Nadershahi during the award presentation. "She stays on top of things as a manager and has great attention to detail. She spends many extra hours beyond what is expected of her to innovate and to find solutions that benefit all of us."
