This program was developed to support faculty development in student-centered pedagogies, including active classroom learning design, technology integration, and online and blended learning. The seminars are offered at lunchtime from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, unless otherwise indicated.

Fundamental Educational Design Principles Short Course

This program includes two 2.5-hour seminars on two consecutive Wednesday evenings.  It aims to improve early and middle career faculty's foundational knowledge in modern pedagogy and assessment approaches. Topics covered include backward design, learning objectives, alignment, active learning strategies, modern assessment approaches,  and technology-supported instructional innovation.

CALTeach is a professional development program designed specifically for faculty at the dental school. The program focuses on the best practices for teaching in classroom and clinical environments. It is comprised of 2.5 onsite program days and one asynchronous webinar. Designed and facilitated by AAL (Academy for Academic Leadership), the program serves as the prerequisite for faculty members who wish to enroll in the AAL/University of the Pacific's Master's in Health Professions Education Degree Program.

Programs offered by Center for Teaching and Learning

In addition to programs offered at the dental school, the university's Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) on the Stockton campus also sponsors and offers various programs to all faculty on the three campuses.  Check out the CTL website for information.
