



Dr. Clifford J. Ruddle is founder and director of Advanced Endodontics, an international educational source, in Santa Barbara, CA. A graduate of the University of the Pacific, he completed his postgraduate work in endodontics at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Additionally, he maintains teaching positions at several dental schools, is a fellow in both the American and International Colleges of Dentistry, and has authored numerous articles and chapters for leading textbooks. As an inventor, Dr. Ruddle has designed and developed several instruments and devices that are widely used internationally. Dr. Ove A. Peters received his dental degree from the University of Kiel, Germany. He received postgraduate endodontic training and a PhD at Zurich University Dental School. Dr. Peters attended UCSF and received an MS in oral biology and a certificate in endodontics. He is currently professor and director of endodontic research at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, and maintains a private practice in San Francisco, CA. His main scientific interests are the performance of nickel-titanium rotary root canal instruments assessed by micro-computed tomography and torque-testing devices and efficacy of antimicrobial regimes in root canal treatment. Recently he became involved in studies detailing events leading to the healing of periradicular lesions.
Dr. Peters has published more than 100 papers, abstracts and book chapters and has lectured both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Alan H. Gluskin is currently professor and chairperson of the Department of Endodontics at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. A graduate of University of the Pacific, Dr. Gluskin received his endodontic certification from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He is a fellow of the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists, and is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association and the San Francisco Dental Society. He presently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Endodontics and the International Journal of Endodontics. He is co-editor of the textbooks Decision Making in Dental Treatment Planning and Practical Lessons in Endodontics. He has served on the educational affairs and research and scientific affairs committees of the American Association of Endodontics.
Dr. L. Stephen Buchanan completed the Endodontic Graduate Program at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He is a graduate of University of the Pacific, a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and assistant clinical professor in the postgraduate endodontic programs at USC and UCLA. Dr. Buchanan maintains a private practice limited to endodontics and implant surgery in Santa Barbara, CA, and is the founder of Dental Education Laboratories, a hands-on training center serving general dentists and endodontists upgrading their skills in new endodontic and implant technologies. He began pursuing 3D anatomy research early in his career, and in 1986 became the first person in dentistry to use micro CT technology to show the intricacies of root structure. Through Dental Education Laboratories, he has lectured and conducted participation courses around the world, published numerous articles, and produced an award-winning video series, The Art of Endodontics.
Dr. John D. West is founder and director of the Center for Endodontics in Tacoma, WA. Dr. West received his DDS from the University of Washington where he is an affiliate associate professor. He then received his MSD in endodontics at Boston University, Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. West coauthored Obturation of the Radicular Space with Dr. John Ingle in the 1994 and 2002 editions of Endodontics, and was senior author of "Cleaning and Shaping the Root Canal System" in Cohen and Burns' 1994 and 1998 Pathways of the Pulp. He has recently authored Endodontic Predictability in Dr. Michael Cohen's 2008 Quintessence text Interdisciplinary Treatment Planning: Principles, Design, Implementation.
