Students pose in their coats after the White Coat Ceremony on July 18, 2009.
It was indeed a privilege and a pleasure to have had the opportunity to welcome you into the patient-care phase of your educational program through the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry's White Coat Ceremony.
The White Coat Ceremony is a significant event, emphasizing the values of integrity, ethical behavior, respect for patients, and your responsibility to the community. I was delighted to see the members of the DDS Class of 2011, the IDS Class of 2011, and the Dental Hygiene Class of 2010 wear the white coat for the first time and recite and accept the professional oath; a special and wonderful moment in your lives.
The faculty and staff of the Dugoni School are extremely proud of you. They will continue to guide you as you become a competent and caring member of the dental health care profession.

I wish you the greatest success as you continue your journey toward becoming a caring health care professional.
